Arsenal gave their fans a rare treat on sunday afternoon as they brushed West Ham aside with ease, closing their goal difference gap with Man City and keeping themselves in the title race

Arsenal supporters are no fans of playing West Ham, but the 6-0 drubbing dished out on Sunday was was reward for the troubles suffered against the Hammers over recent years.

Although Arsenal dominated throughout, it took just over half an hour for the breakthrough, coming from a set-piece and, from there, West Ham just gave up.

With the score four-0 to The Arsenal at the break, West Ham fans left the London Stadium in their thousands. Those who remained, booed heartily.

Raya was untested for the full 90 and the win was so comprehensive, Mikel Arteta even gave 15 minutes to Ethan Nwaneri.

Arsenal dominated West Ham United across all statistics, underscoring their comprehensive 6-0 victory.

Arsenal enjoyed the majority of ball possession, controlling the game with 71% compared to West Ham’s 29%.

The expected goals (xG) metric further highlighted the disparity, with Arsenal at 3.66 against West Ham’s 0.21.

Arsenal were aggressive in their attack, taking a total of 25 shots with 12 on target, whereas West Ham failed to register a single shot on target. Then again, they only had one attempt.

Arsenal also created six big chances, missing two, indicative of their offensive prowess.

In terms of passing accuracy, Arsenal completed 640 passes with an impressive 93% accuracy rate, significantly higher than West Ham’s 208 passes at 74% accuracy.

The match saw Arsenal commit 17 fouls and earn six corners, while West Ham committed 11 fouls and managed just two corners, further illustrating Arsenal’s control over the match and their relentless pressure that led to a dominant win.
