Arsenal defender Omar Rekik is on the move again! Following the conclusion of his loan spell at Wigan Athletic, the 22-year-old has secured a new temporary move to Swiss side Servette for the remainder of the season.

After his first-half-season stint with Wigan Athletic in the Championship came to an end, the Arsenal defender has found a new temporary home in Switzerland. Servette has secured Rekik’s services on loan until the end of the season, providing him with an opportunity to gain valuable playing time in a different league.

This marks Rekik’s second loan spell in quick succession. He initially joined Wigan mid-season last year, making 11 Championship appearances before returning to the Latics on another loan this season. However, injuries hampered his progress later in the campaign, limiting him to just 14 appearances in all competitions.

With his future at Wigan uncertain due to fitness concerns, Rekik and the club mutually agreed not to extend his loan. However, the young defender wasn’t ready to put his season on hold. Instead, he sought a new challenge, leading him to Servette in the Swiss Super League.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that this loan move provides Rekik with the platform to showcase his talents and regain his fitness. Regular playing time at Servette could prove beneficial for his development and potentially influence his future at the Emirates.

With a new environment and a clean slate, Rekik has the chance to impress in Switzerland. Will he thrive in the Swiss Super League and return to Arsenal a more polished defender? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: Arsenal fans will be keeping a close eye on his progress at Servette.
