Arsenal are considering rivalling Chelsea for Victor Osimhen in the summer, but they have a number of options on their striker shortlist.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Victor Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli in the summer, and there’s interest from Chelsea in the striker.
But Romano claims Arsenal are also in the mix, with the Gunners looking to move for a top striker in the upcoming window and considering different options at the moment.
Ryan Taylor reports for the Mirror that Chelsea are the favourites for Osimhen’s signature, but Arsenal are indeed also interested.
Taylor claims Ivan Toney is also on Arsenal’s summer shortlist, and no decision has been taken yet on their top target.
Speaking to the media recently, Osimhen claimed he’d already made up his mind over his next steps as a player.
“At the end of the season, I’ve already made up my mind, I already know what I want to do with my career,” Osimhen said.
“Since I started, I’ve been the one taking my own decisions and everything is working out well for me.
“I already know the next step that I want to take, so for now, I just want to finish the season strong.
“[Then] go and relax somewhere with my daughter, think about my life, and then finally come out with the decision I’ve already made.”
Osimhen is currently focusing on the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria, and he’s signed a contract extension with club side Napoli, but the striker recently admitted he’s open to a Premier League move.
Speaking to the media in January, Osimhen answered a question about whether he wants to play in the English top tier.
“Of course one day, definitely,” the centre-forward responded. “But for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to.
“So when the time comes, everyone knows.”
