Charlie Patino has refused to be drawn on whether he’ll be playing for Arsenal next season, insisting he wants to focus on Swansea City.

Charlie Patino is currently on loan with Swansea City, with his deal set to expire in the summer.

There have been various rumours circling about what might happen after that, but Patino told Football.London that he’s not thinking about his next steps right now.

“Whatever happens, happens for me – I just take everything day by day,” Patino said.

“I don’t really look too much towards the end of the season right now.

“I’m here with Swansea now and I want to help them try and get into the play-offs and contribute to as many goals and assists as possible – and to get as many wins as possible.

“We’ve got 18 games left, still a lot of time to keep showing the player I am and keep improving.”

“I don’t want to say if I’m ready (to play a part in the first team at Arsenal),” Patino added.

“But I’ll take it daily and I’m here with Luke and the staff – let’s see what happens.”

Recent reports have suggested that Juventus were watching Charlie Patino play for loan club Swansea City during their recent FA Cup fixture against Morecambe, though that move would be quite surprising at this stage.

Not too long ago, Patino was dropped from the Swansea City starting lineup.

The midfielder appeared to have fallen out of favour at Swansea City at the end of 2023, with interim manager Alan Sheehan admitting the midfielder needed to improve in certain areas of his game.

2024 offered Patino a way back into the side, with an injury to Liam Walsh seeing the Arsenal loanee take his place.

But Swansea’s 5-0 thrashing by Bournemouth at the weekend certainly didn’t do Patino’s reputation many favours.

There will be a few eyes on Tuesday’s Swansea lineup against Leicester City, to see whether or not Patino is one of the casualties of the fallout from that result.

As Patino himself points out, it’s probably best if his full focus is on his loan spell right now.
