Arsenal may do some business late in the January window, but David Ornstein expects things to be quiet for the Gunners this month.

Writing in his Q&A on The Athletic, David Ornstein reported that Arsenal’s financial position dictates that this is likely to be a quiet transfer window for the club.

As it stands, the journalist isn’t aware of any meaningful developments regarding transfers, and it will largely depend on whether any players leave for significant fees.

All the same, Ornstein adds that it wouldn’t surprise him to see a ‘reactive’ late deal, as the Gunners are attentive to the market and they’re short in various areas of the squad.

Transfer links have started to spring up in recent days involving various players, from Everton’s Amadou Onana to Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

That’s no real surprise, given Arsenal’s recent form. When things are going badly, you’re always likely to see a few more transfer rumours in the news.

But as soon as new links have appeared, they’ve tended to be quickly shot down by reliable journalists.

Arsenal don’t appear to be close to any signings at the moment, and that probably won’t change until we see some activity with outgoings.
