Florian Plettenberg reports that 17-year-old centre-back David Odogu of Wolfsburg is open to a January transfer, with Arsenal among the clubs informed on his contract details.

The Gunners aren’t the only Premier League side in the mix, with Chelsea and Leicester City also staying informed, and Brentford putting the defender on their shortlist.

But Wolfsburg are still hoping to keep Odogu around, and they’re in a good position from a contractual standpoint.

According to Plettenberg’s report, Odogu’s current youth contract will automatically become a professional contract in the summer, with the new terms lasting until 2027.

The only reason Odogu isn’t currently on that new deal is that he doesn’t turn 18 until June.

Odogu is yet to feature for Wolfsburg’s first team, though he did make the bench for a Bundesliga fixture back in April.

For the most part, the German u17 international plays for Wolfsburg’s youth teams, and he’s made 11 appearances between the junior Bundesliga and the junior German Cup so far this season.

Odogu even took on the captain’s armband for the Wolfsburg u19s in December, and he would have played for the side more often if not for his participation in the u17 World Cup late last year.

The teenager played every game for the Germany u17s as they won the tournament, which will certainly have helped to get his name out there.
