Crystal Palace have a serious interest in signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah this month, but the Gunners aren’t currently receptive to a move.
David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that Crystal Palace have a firm interest in Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, but the Gunners haven’t yet shown any willingness to let the striker go.
Ornstein adds that if Arsenal’s stance changes, he expects Palace to push hard for the signing.
The BBC confirm that Palace are interested in signing Nketiah, but a January deal looks difficult, again due to Arsenal’s unwillingness to sell.
According to the BBC, Palace are long-term admirers of Nketiah, and they wanted to sign him last season under Patrick Vieira. The deal didn’t go through then, but the club still evidently hold an interest in the Arsenal striker.
Football journalist Alan Nixon recently reported that Nketiah won’t be sold in the January transfer window, despite increasing interest from Premier League clubs.
Arsenal reportedly view Nketiah as a crucial member of their squad as they push for the Premier League title, so he’s set to remain with the Gunners for the winter window.
Sami Mokbel had reported for the Daily Mail that Nketiah was attracting interest around the Premier League, with Arsenal already having knocked back at least one enquiry from Crystal Palace for the striker.
Fabrizio Romano then wrote that there’s interest in Nketiah from five or six Premier League clubs, as well as some Bundesliga clubs.
But Romano added that Arsenal are still happy with Nketiah, and there are no concrete or advanced negotiations ongoing.
