Arsenal loanee Alex Kirk has broken into Bromley FC’s starting lineup after returning from injury last month.

Alex Kirk has had to be very patient on loan with Bromley FC, making it into their starting lineup for consecutive games after waiting three-and-a-half months for the privilege.

Kirk moved to non-league Bromley in September, and a few weeks later he made his first appearance in the squad against Chesterfield.

That initial delay was no real surprise, with Kirk having ended last season with an injury.

The centre-back made his debut for Bromley later in October, even scoring a goal, but he then suffered an injury setback keeping him out for the following two months.

Kirk eventually returned to the team against Altrincham on December 23rd, playing 90 minutes, and it seems he’s now won a starting spot.

The Arsenal defender has started all of Bromley’s last five games, made up of two league wins, two league draws, and one FA Trophy win on penalties.

Bromley have only conceded a couple of goals in their last three matches, and Kirk has even scored one of his own in the 5-1 win over Ebbsfleet.

The National League side sit second in the table behind Chesterfield, as they make their promotion push.

Though Bromley are nine points behind the leaders, they’re in with a good shot at the play-offs at least.

Arsenal’s other loanee at Bromley isn’t doing quite so well right now.

Kido Taylor-Hart made three appearances back in September, but he’s only made five appearances in the league squad since then, failing to make it onto the pitch on a single occasion.

Taylor-Hart made the bench for the FA Trophy fixture against Chippenham over the weekend, but it’s not clear whether that’s an indication of reintegration or simply an opportunity created by cup rotation.

For Kirk, at least, things seem to be going well with Bromley right now.
