Galatasaray are interested in a permanent deal for Arsenal defender Cedric Soares, as they prepare to sell current right-back Sacha Boey.
Charles Watts reports that Galatasaray are interested in Arsenal’s Cedric Soares, joining fellow Turkish club Besiktas in the race.
Watts writes that Galatasaray are expected to sell Sacha Boey to Bayern Munich, despite links to Arsenal this week, and Cedric is on their list of replacements.
CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs confirms that Galatasaray have entered the race for Cedric, looking at a permanent transfer rather than a loan. Jacobs reiterates that Besiktas are also still interested.
Kaya Kaynak of Football.London writes that Galatasaray are interested in signing Cedric, and Arsenal are open to finding someone to take the player’s wages off their books.
Again, Kaynak suggests the move is linked to Boey’s potential desparture, with Bayern Munich seemingly leading that race.
But Besiktas aren’t out of it yet, and they could still make a move of their own.
Cedric is reportedly open to a deal, and Football.London suggests that his exit wouldn’t necessarily lead to Arsenal signing a replacement this month.
James Olley of ESPN had previously reported that Villarreal were in the mix for Cedric in January as well, and fellow Turkish club Trabzonspor. The Athletic also recently confirmed Villarreal’s interest.
For now, it seems Galatasaray and Besiktas are at the forefront of proceedings.
