Galatasaray are eyeing Arsenal’s Jorginho as a key midfield signing to replace Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele with club reps expected in London this week.

This move comes as Galatasaray attempt to revamp their midfield in the wake of Ndombele’s underwhelming performances.

Galatasaray are reportedly setting their sights on Arsenal‘s Jorginho as a potential replacement for Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele, who has struggled to make an impact at the Turkish club.

This development comes as Galatasaray reportedly prepare to terminate Ndombele’s loan contract.

Ndombele, loaned from Tottenham at the start of the season, has not lived up to expectations at Galatasaray, contributing neither goals nor assists in 12 appearances.

Ndombele’s time at Galatasaray has seen him play just 210 minutes across eight Super League matches and 90 minutes in four Champions League games.

The club is now reportedly ‘determined’ to send the 27-year-old French midfielder back to Tottenham without incurring any compensation payment. They did not pay a loan fee for Ndombele, but are paying his €3m-a-year wages.

In contrast, Jorginho, whose contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the season’s end, has emerged as a prime target for Galatasaray‘s midfield to replace Ndombele.

The 32-year-old Italian international is said to fit the profile desired by Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk, characterised by high game intelligence, stability, and the ability to manage both attack and defence.

Jorginho is reportedly keen on joining a competitive team where he can secure regular playing time to guarantee his place in EURO 2024, at least, that’s what the report from Turkey claims.

Buruk plans to strengthen the midfield defence and support the front line by pairing Jorginho with former Arsenal man, Lucas Torreira.

Galatasaray‘s management is expected to initiate talks with Arsenal for Jorginho’s transfer, with club officials set to travel to England this week to discuss the potential move.
