Fabrizio Romano reports that Hertha BSC have agreed a permanent deal to sign Arsenal’s Bradley Ibrahim in the January transfer window.

The player is already in Berlin with his agent to put pen to paper, agreeing a contract with his new club lasting until 2027.

Ibrahim is a talented young midfielder, so the good news for Arsenal is that they’ll have a few clauses in the player’s Hertha deal.

For a start, Romano reports that Arsenal will have “matching rights” in Ibrahim’s deal, allowing them to match any bid that Hertha accept for the player to sign him back ahead of the competition.

The Gunners also have a “healthy” sell-on clause, if they decide not to match such a bid.

Arsenal will also earn more for Ibrahim’s transfer based on the number of appearances he makes for Hertha.

It seems like a win-win transfer, with Ibrahim getting a move that will offer him senior football, Hertha landing the player they wanted, and Arsenal ensuring they’re well placed to bring him back or profit again in the future.

Ibrahim has made 15 appearances for the Arsenal youth teams between the Premier League 2, the UEFA Youth League, and the EFL Trophy this season, scoring once and assisting four goals.

Generally operating as a defensive midfielder, the 19-year-old’s game is about far more than just goals and assists, and he’ll hopefully be able to show that with his new club.
