Arsenal are set to face Manchester United and Liverpool during their planned tour of the United States this summer, according to a report.
The Athletic report that Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are set to play one another in the United States as part of their pre-season tours this summer.
As it stands, the host cities and the precise dates of the game remain unknown.
But the report confirms that Arsenal will play against both Manchester United and Liverpool on their tour.
The Liverpool fixtures should be particularly interesting, given the club will probably have a new permanent manager in charge by then.
Chelsea and Manchester City are also set to play in the U.S. on tours of their own, but it seems they’re likely to face each other, rather than taking on Arsenal, United, or Liverpool.
Reports had previously confirmed that Arsenal were planning another tour of the USA in 2024, as part of their pre-season preparations for the 2024/25 campaign.
Arseblog suggested that it’s thought the club will play another match at the KSE-owned SoFI Stadium in Los Angeles.
The report added that it’s likely the tour will be slightly later in the summer than last year, what with Euro 2024 taking place and a slightly later start date for the Premier League.
Arsenal played their opening Premier League fixture on Saturday, August 12th this season, but the new campaign is set to kick-off on Saturday, August 17th.
Euro 2024 kicks off on June 14th and concludes on July 14th. But any Arsenal players involved in the tournament could obviously return earlier, should their teams not perform well.
The group stage concludes on June 26th, so that will be the earliest possible date for Arsenal internationals to end their duties at the tournament.
It’s unlikely many Arsenal players will be back early, however. The group stage is very forgiving, with 16 of the 24 group-stage teams progressing to the knockout rounds.
As a result, Arsenal will probably put off the bulk of their tour until as late as possible, likely late-July and early-August.
