The Arsenal u18s are set to face Manchester United in the next round of the Premier League Cup and Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup.

Following recent cup draws, Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal u18 side are set for a couple of big games towards the end of this month and at the start of the next.

First up, the Arsenal u18s will face Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup on Saturday, January 20th at 17:30 GMT, following the first-team match against Crystal Palace earlier in the day.

Then, on Saturday, February 3rd, Arsenal will face Manchester United in the Premier League Cup round of 16.

Both matches will take place away from home, though neither will be played at the first-team stadiums.

Rather than Anfield, Arsenal’s match against Liverpool will take place at Kirkby Academy. Instead of Old Trafford, the Arsenal u18s will play Manchester United at Carrington.

It’s a shame neither fixture will be played in the grounds of the senior teams, as they have been in previous years.

Bukayo Saka and Tyreece John-Jules were the stars of the show as Arsenal beat Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Youth Cup in 2018, with Emile Smith Rowe also playing a key role.

But with the Arsenal first team playing on the same day as the Liverpool game on this occasion, it would have been difficult to draw much of a crowd for that fixture.

As for the United game, the Premier League Cup isn’t considered as prestigious as the FA Youth Cup, so the location for that fixture perhaps isn’t as surprising.
