Arsenal hope to have Gabriel Jesus back involved against Crystal Palace this weekend, but Oleksandr Zinchenko’s inclusion remains doubtful.
The Evening Standard report that Arsenal are hoping to have Gabriel Jesus back in the squad against Crystal Palace this weekend, with the striker having missed the FA Cup clash with Liverpool due to a minor knee issue.
The Gunners were always hopeful that the injury was nothing too serious, and Jesus has been back involved in training over the winter break.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is pushing hard to make it back against Palace as well, but the report suggests the left-back is still a doubt to feature.
If Zinchenko is unavailable, Arsenal would likely need to turn to Jakub Kiwior, with Takehiro Tomiyasu unavailable due to the AFC Asian Cup.
There were also rumours that Jorginho had missed a training session with the Gunners earlier this week, but he was back involved again on Tuesday, so it seems he was just having a rest day.
With Mohamed Elneny unavailable due to the Africa Cup of Nations and Thomas Partey still out injured (but reportedly making good progress), Arsenal would ideally not want to lose Jorginho as well.
As for the long-term injury sufferers, Jurrien Timber remains absent despite his recent return to the pitch for light ball work.
Fabio Vieira is still set to miss another few weeks with his groin injury.
