Arsenal are reportedly considering an offer for Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo from Santos, with the young talent attracting interest from several top European clubs.
Arsenal are reportedly showing interest in Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo of Santos, with a potential move being considered in the January transfer window.
According to Goal Brasil, while there have been no formal bids yet, Arsenal‘s enquiries into the player suggest they might solidify their interest with the window open.
Leonardo, who has been a standout performer for Santos, particularly caught attention during his stint at the u20 World Cup, where he played alongside Arsenal’s Marquinhos, scoring five goals in five games.
This year, the 20-year-old has continued his impressive form, netting 21 goals in 49 games for his club.
Santos, having been relegated from Brazil’s top division, may be more open to negotiations for Leonardo, especially considering their current situation.
Earlier in the summer, Santos rejected a €12 million plus €6 million (£10.3 million plus £5.2 million) offer from AS Roma.
However, now they might be willing to consider offers in that region.
It’s not just Arsenal who have shown interest in the young Brazilian talent; Newcastle United and Real Madrid have also made enquiries about Leonardo’s situation.
Arsenal‘s link with Leonardo isn’t new, as the Gunners were previously linked with him over the summer.
