Arsenal are reportedly interested in AS Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola, a 30-year-old left-sided player with a valuation of €7.5 million.

With his contract nearing its end, Spinazzola allegedly becomes a  target for the Gunners.

Arsenal are reportedly ‘hovering’ for AS Roma‘s Leonardo Spinazzola, a 30-year-old left-sided player valued at €7.5 million.

This interest from the Gunners comes as Spinazzola’s contract with Roma nears its end, with less than six months remaining.

Spinazzola’s agent, Davide Lippi, has made it clear that his client will not be renewing his contract with the Serie A club.

Speaking to Sportitalia, Lippi stated, “There is no chance for a renewal. Let’s see how the January market develops otherwise he will expire.”

Arsenal’s interest in Spinazzola is seen as a move to strengthen their left-back position.

Currently, Arsenal’s squad includes Oleksandr Zinchenko as the primary recognised left-back.

With Kieran Tierney on loan at Real Sociedad and not planning to return early, despite rumours to the contrary, Arsenal’s options are limited.

Tierney confirmed in an interview, “Several people have already asked me if I was going to return to Arsenal now and the answer is no. I’m going to stay here for sure.”

The Italian international’s versatility is viewed as a significant asset; he can also operate as a left wing-back or right-back and has contributed a goal and three assists in 17 games this season.

While Aston Villa, led by Unai Emery, are also in the picture for Spinazzola, Arsenal’s interest appears more pressing given their current squad dynamics.

Aston Villa currently have Lucas Digne and Álex Moreno covering the left-back position.

Spinazzola moved from Juventus to AS Roma in 2019 for €29.50m, and his career has featured various loan spells at other clubs.

His highest market value was recorded at €26.00m in March 2021.
