Arsenal achieved an emphatic victory against Crystal Palace over the weekend, and a few individuals were recognised in the various Teams of the Week for the Premier League matchday.

The BBC’s Garth Crooks included Gabriel Magalhaes in his team, writing that “Gabriel took complete advantage of a team in defensive disarray”.

Crooks wrote that both of Arsenal’s first two goals were “created by Gabriel’s ingenuity”, naming the centre-back alongside Everton’s James Tarkowski and Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate in a back three.

Despite his involvement in two goals, Gabriel didn’t make it into WhoScored’s Team of the Week, but three of his teammates did.

Oleksandr Zinchenko featured in defence, with Ben McAleer writing that the left-back “defended well as he made five tackles to book his spot in the XI”.

Bukayo Saka was the next player named in the side, with the article highlighting that the winger was unfortunate not to register an assist (after Gabriel’s second goal was awarded as an own goal).

McAleer highlight’s Saka’s four key passes and two tackles on the way to Arsenal’s 5-0 win.

Finally, Gabriel Jesus also made the side thanks to four key passes of his own, one assist, and four successful dribbles.

Funnily enough, none of Arsenal’s three goalscorers made the WhoScored side, which perhaps shows what a well-rounded performance it was.
