David Ospina, once a key figure in goal for Arsenal, is currently navigating an uncertain future, with his name surfacing in various transfer market rumours.

After overcoming an injury that sidelined him for several months, Ospina’s tenure with Al Nassr appears to be hanging in the balance.

Initially, there were talks about a potential return to Colombian professional football to rejoin Atlético Nacional where his professional career started, and even a shift to Spanish football with Granada was considered.

However, these options seem to be fading, opening the door to new possibilities for the 35-year-old goalkeeper.

Emerging reports from Brazil now place Ospina in the radar of Botafogo, a club that notably led the Brasileirao for a significant duration last season before finishing fifth, securing a spot in the Copa Libertadores 2024.

According to Brazilian journalist Medeiros, Ospina is among the names considered by Botafogo for their goalkeeping position, although he is not their primary choice.

Botafogo’s main target is reportedly John, currently on loan at Valladolid from Santos.

However, Ospina, with his vast experience and record as the most-capped player in the history of the Colombian National Team, remains an attractive option.

Ospina joined Arsenal in July , 2014, from OGC Nice for a fee of €4.00 million, with a value of €5.00 million at that time.

His stint at Arsenal was notable for a blend of both highs and lows, marked by some remarkable saves and horrendous mistakes.

Ospina made a total of 70 appearances for Arsenal, before being sold to Napoli for €3.5 million in 2019.

After signing for Al-Nassr in the summer of 2022, Ospina has made just 14 appearances, keeping nine cleansheets.
