Arsenal appear to have revised their interest in Manchester United star Mary Earps, as Paris Saint-Germain takes the lead in the race to sign the Lionesses’ goalkeeper.

Earps, a key figure in women’s football, has garnered attention from several top European clubs, with her contract at Manchester United set to expire at the end of the season.

Despite being seen as front-runners for signing Earps on a free transfer this summer, Arsenal has reportedly ‘cooled’ their pursuit.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper, who had an offer worth more than £100,000 from Arsenal rejected last summer, has had a remarkable year, winning accolades such as Best FIFA Goalkeeper, the Super League Golden Glove, the World Cup Golden Glove, and England Player of the Year. She also secured a fifth-place finish in the women’s Ballon d’Or voting.

While Arsenal‘s interest wanes, Paris Saint-Germain has stepped up as the new frontrunners to secure Earps’ services. Additionally, Barcelona have been in talks with the England goalkeeper, who has shown reluctance to join Manchester United‘s rivals, Manchester City.

According to the Standard’s report linked above, Earps recently changed her talent representation, signing with A&V Sports, which represents other notable players like Chelsea and Australia forward Sam Kerr and Lyon striker Ada Hegerberg.

Regarding Arsenal‘s transfer plans, women’s football expert Tim Stillman reported that manager Jonas Eidevall stated, “We are active in the market and there might be business to be done,” without commenting specifically on Earps.

Manchester United‘s manager, Marc Skinner, has expressed his desire for Earps to stay at the club, despite the uncertainty surrounding her contract. “Of course, I want Mary to stay,” Skinner said, underlining her importance to the team and his hopes for her continued presence at Manchester United.
