Boca Juniors midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez is being followed by Arsenal, with club scouts reportedly watching him at the Pre-Olympic Tournament.
21-year-old Boca Juniors midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez has had a busy year with his club, making 43 appearances in a breakthrough campaign.
Fernandez had previously impressed on loan with Tigre, and he made himself a starter on his return to his parent club in 2023.
The player is now being linked with a move to Arsenal, with Argentinian outlet El Crack Deportivo reporting that the Gunners are tracking him at the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.
Arsenal scouts are reportedly in attendance at the event, and ECD claim they’re there to watch Fernandez.
Boca Juniors are worried about losing the player to Europe, with Benfica, Inter Milan, and Sevilla also following him closely, and they’ve put a €15m asking price on the Argentina u23 international.
It’s worth mentioning that Arsenal scouts are probably also at the Pre-Olympic Tournament to keep an eye on Marquinhos, who is playing at the event with Brazil.
But they’ll inevitably be keeping an eye on any outstanding young talents at the same time.
The first group stage of the tournament has now kicked off, with Brazil in Group A and Argentina in Group B.
The top-two teams in each five-team group progress to a second group stage, and the top-two teams at the end of that stage will qualify for the Olympics.
