Cedric Soares, the out-of-favour Arsenal defender, is drawing interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray and Besiktas ahead of the January transfer window deadline.

Cedric’s time with the Gunners appears to be nearing its end. With his contract expiring this summer, the question remains: will he depart for free or find a new home before February 1st?

Now, two Turkish clubs are eager to offer him a fresh start.

According to The Standard, both Galatasaray and Besiktas are vying for the 31-year-old’s signature. In the past two seasons, he’s managed just six appearances across all competitions.

Cedric’s career has spanned Portugal, England, and now potentially Turkey. After starting out at Sporting Lisbon, he made 138 appearances for Southampton before joining Arsenal in 2020. While his initial spell with the Gunners saw him feature in 61 games, recent years have been a different story.

Should Cedric leave before the January deadline, a permanent transfer is more likely than a loan. With a reported weekly wage of £100,000, Arsenal are keen to offload his high-earning contract.

Cedric’s future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: his time at Arsenal is winding down. With Turkish interest emerging, a new chapter in his career could be just around the corner.
