Arsenal are reportedly setting their sights on Karim Benzema on loan, as they to reinforce their attacking line while adhering to FFP guidelines.

The seasoned French striker, currently with Al-Ittihad, is said to be a prime target for the Gunners.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Karim Benzema, the experienced French striker, on loan.

The Gunners are actively seeking to strengthen their frontline, and Benzema, currently at Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, has reportedly emerged as a prime target.

Despite Chelsea also considering Benzema, Arsenal are said to be in the lead to secure the services of the 36-year-old, who moved to Al-Ittihad last June on a free transfer.

Benzema’s stint in Saudi Arabia follows a stellar period at Real Madrid, where he clinched the Ballon d’Or just a year ago.

His return to European football could significantly boost Arsenal‘s attack.

The need for a striker at Arsenal has become increasingly evident this season, especially with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah struggling to find their goal-scoring form.

Arteta has openly acknowledged the requirement for reinforcement in the number 9 position. While links to Brentford‘s leading striker have been circulating, the focus seems to have shifted towards the veteran French forward.

Though Manchester United were initially thought to be interested in Benzema, reports suggest they have no intentions of pursuing him in this transfer window.

This leaves Arsenal in a favourable position to approach Benzema for a loan deal.

While financial considerations, particularly Benzema’s salary, are a concern for Arsenal in the winter transfer window, the prospect of bringing a player of Benzema’s calibre to the Emirates is an enticing one.

The Gunners are weighing up the benefits of a loan deal, which seems more feasible under the current financial constraints.

Bringing in Benzema, a player with immense experience and a proven track record, could be the solution Arsenal needs to strengthen their attacking options for their title charge before it’s too late.
