Premier League suitors including Arsenal and Liverpool have long admired his talents, but the siren song of Paris Saint-Germain, whispered into his ear by super-agent Jorge Mendes, might yet tempt him to forgo the Premier League for the City of Lights.

Mendes, who already holds considerable sway at PSG after last summer’s transfer window exploits, reportedly sees André as the perfect midfield solution for the French giants. Recent injuries to Fabian Ruiz and Warren Zaire-Emery have exposed a chink in the Parisian armour, and André’s combative style and youthful exuberance are seen as the ideal remedy.

While André seems to have a preference for the Premier League’s intensity and competitive fire, no concrete agreement with any English club has materialised. This leaves the door ajar for PSG, whose financial muscle and Mendes’ influence could prove irresistible. Fluminense, on the other hand, are already licking their lips at the prospect of their biggest ever sale, with a price tag exceeding €35 million expected.

Arsenal, for their part, remain in the hunt. Technical director Edu Gaspar’s scouting trip to Brazil early into the season, with a supposed stop at Fluminense, suggests continued interest. However, Edu’s itinerary included several other clubs, leaving Arsenal fans still wondering who might have been on his list.
