Ben White is currently nursing a knock following his recent injury absence, as Arsenal’s options at right-back grow increasingly thin.

Football insider Team News and Ticks reports that Arsenal’s Ben White is nursing a knock at the moment, despite the right-back playing regularly for the Gunners in recent weeks.

White had an injury absence in November, and though he only missed one game, it took until December for him to return to the starting lineup.

Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injury then forced White back into the lineup, but it seems he’s still not 100% fit.

With Jurrien Timber also absent through injury, and makeshift right-back Thomas Partey out as well, White is one of very few options currently available for Mikel Arteta.

The Spanish manager can also call on Cedric Soares, as he did in the Champions League dead rubber against PSV Eindhoven, but Cedric hasn’t been trusted in a game of any great significance for a long while now.

The same is even more applicable to youth prospect Reuell Walters. Mikel Arteta clearly likes the youngster, but he didn’t even trust him to play in the PSV match, let alone a vital Premier League clash.

The pressure is therefore on White to play through his injury, rather than giving him any time off to fully get over it.

The good news is that Arsenal have a couple of breaks coming up. There’s no game in midweek, and the winter break in January will give the Gunners almost a fortnight off.

The January schedule isn’t particularly hectic at the moment, with only three games locked in. Though that could yet change if Arsenal require an FA Cup replay, if they progress to the fourth round, or both.

The bad news is that White might have to play three games in just eight days at the end of the December. Arsenal face Liverpool on December 23rd, West Ham United on December 28th, and Fulham on December 31st.
