Former Gunner Dan Crowley was once regarded as the next big thing at Arsenal, let’s take a look at what the midfielder is up to now.

Joining Arsenal from Aston Villa as a youngster, Dan Crowley’s reputation quickly grew.

The midfielder went on tour with the first team in 2015, and there were high hopes for him ahead of his loan spells away from the club.

But things didn’t work out in north London, and after three loans and zero senior appearances, Crowley moved on permanently to Willem II.

Since then, there have been plenty of further transfers. Crowley went on loan to SC Cambuur, returned to Willem II for a season, then moved permanently to Birmingham City.

Crowley was loaned out to Hull City, then joined Cheltenham Town on a short-term contract. When that deal expired, he returned to Willem II on a new 18-month deal, but a year later he was on the move again, joining Morecambe.

Sadly, Morecambe’s relegation meant they had to let Crowley go, which led him to his current club – Notts County.

Newly-promoted League Two side Notts County signed Crowley on a two-year deal in the summer, and he’s made a very strong start to life with them.

The former Gunner has scored nine goals already, a career high for a single season, and he’s also provided seven assists in his 25 appearances.

Notts County are sixth in the league, putting them well in contention for a play-off spot, if not the fight for automatic promotion.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Crowley is putting up his best numbers, as this is the lowest level of football he’s played at, aged 26.

But he’ll aim to make this the start of a climb back up the leagues in the coming years.
