Speaking in his press conference on Friday ahead of Arsenal’s match against Wolves this weekend, Mikel Arteta gave a positive update to confirm that the Gunners don’t have any new injuries.

Whilst Arsenal won’t have any players returning from injury on Saturday, it’s good to hear that there are no new problems in the squad, particularly after Takehiro Tomiyasu was taken off at half-time of Wednesday’s match.

“I don’t think we’ll get anyone back, but we didn’t have any [new] incidents, so all good,” Arteta said in his team news update.

Arsenal have a few long-term absentees at the moment. Jurrien Timber is expected to be out for most of the season, perhaps returning for the run-in, and Thomas Partey’s return date remains uncertain.

Emile Smith Rowe is expected to return in the next week or two, with Football.London reporting earlier this week that the midfielder wouldn’t be back imminently, but could return within the fortnight.

Then Fabio Vieira was the latest to be ruled out of action, undergoing an operation on his groin ruling him out until after the winter break.

These are all injuries Arsenal have already been dealing with in recent games, so there shouldn’t be any nasty surprises ahead of this weekend’s fixture.

The Gunners face Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday at 15:00 GMT.
