Speaking to the media this week, Ruben Neves confirmed that he plans to remain with his current club beyond the January transfer window.

“I don’t go,” Neves said. “Everything is going really well for me and I want to stay here.”

In recent days and weeks, Neves has been linked with a transfer to Newcastle United or Arsenal.

But David Ornstein then broke the news that Neves would be remaining in Saudi Arabia.

Ornstein wrote for The Athletic that Neves wasn’t expected to leave his current club in January, regardless of the clubs after him.

There haven’t been any approaches or talks for the midfielder, and he’s happy and settled with his current club.

Al-Hilal won’t be keen to sell, with the team top of their league and their AFC Champions League group, as well as progressing to the King’s Cup quarter-finals.

Neves made 41 appearances for Wolves last season, scoring six goals from midfield before his move to Saudi Arabia.

The 26-year-old has since made 19 appearances for Al-Hilal this season, scoring twice. He has a contract with his current club lasting until 2026.
