Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz was recently spotted wearing an Arsenal shirt with Dennis Bergkamp’s name on it, but is he really a fan of the Gunners?

20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz is widely considered the next big thing in men’s tennis, having already won Wimbledon and the US Open before his 21st birthday, with the last generation of top tennis stars ageing and on the way out.

But the tennis pro took a break from his favoured sport to play a football match recently, and he was spotted wearing an Arsenal shirt.

Alcaraz was taking part in the traditional Christmas football match for the JC Ferrero Tennis Academy, with one team wearing red and the other wearing white.

Whilst most of Alcaraz’s teammates wore plain red t-shirts, the tennis star opted for a classic Dennis Bergkamp kit.

Alcaraz’s team ended up winning the match 2-1, so the Arsenal shirt clearly brought the player some luck. But is Alcaraz really an Arsenal fan?

Unfortunately, reports suggest that the world tennis No. 2 is actually a Real Madrid fan, even recently celebrating on court with Jude Bellingham’s celebration.

Alcaraz has reportedly always been interested in football, sharing his Dream XI with the media earlier this year.

But whilst Alcaraz’s side contained seven current or former Real Madrid players, no Arsenal player made the cut, past or present.

As a young man raised in Spain, it’s perhaps no surprise Alcaraz is more focused on Spanish football than the Premier League. Maybe he has a soft spot for the Gunners as his English team.

But until any further information surfaces, it’s also not impossible that Alcaraz simply liked the design of the old Arsenal kit.

Real Madrid are clearly his favourite team overall, and we only have this one hint of any interest in the Gunners for now.
