Gilberto Silva thinks Arsenal have to fight for all three remaining trophies on offer to them this season, though injuries could be a problem.

At the time of writing, Arsenal are top of the Premier League, having already won their Champions League group with a game to spare.

The Gunners are also set to kick off their FA Cup campaign at home to Liverpool in January, which will inevitably lead to some conversations about priorities this season.

Should Arsenal focus on the Premier League, with another chance to end that long run without a title? Should they prioritise winning a first Champions League trophy? Can they afford a deep cup run alongside those two competitions?

Gilberto Silva tells Daily Cannon he thinks Mikel Arteta’s side need to keep fighting on all three fronts for as long as they can.

The team looks good,” Gilberto began. “The team is playing well, very solid, which is important.

“When you have a solid team like Arsenal have at the moment, you have to think about all possibilities.

“We have to think of the FA Cup, we have to think of the Premier League, we have to think of the Champions League. For as long as you are there fighting in those competitions.

“You cannot put any of them aside. Of course, you have to play according to the strategy for each competition.”

It’s obviously not easy to keep three trophy charges going simultaneously, and Gilberto believes injuries could prove the primary limiting factor for Arsenal.

I think the hardest thing for the manager when you have so many competitions is to balance the squad when you have injuries,” Gilberto admitted.

“I think injuries are a big issue for every manager in every club in the world, when you are in more than one or two competitions.

“After the Christmas period, we see that some clubs face a lot of tough times because of injuries. Some of them play so many games and then you don’t have players available to rotate them. This is a nightmare for every manager in every club.

“But let’s see. Let’s see how Arsenal can manage that and I hope that the injured players get back soon to be available for Arteta.”

Arsenal are currently without five players, with Takehiro Tomiyasu the latest to join fellow mid-to-long-term absentees Fabio Vieira, Emile Smith Rowe, Thomas Partey, and Jurrien Timber.

If the Gunners are going to sustain runs in the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup, they’ll need to avoid that list growing much longer.
