Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo, a teammate of Takehiro Tomiyasu for Japan, described the Arsenal defender as having a ‘glass heart’.

This unique description came up during the press release of Endo’s book “Duel”, which carries the tagline: “30 ways of thinking that don’t need correct answers”.

Endo expressed his desire to give the book to Tomiyasu, highlighting his perfectionist nature and tendency to overthink, especially in matters like injuries and superstitions.

Endo elaborated on Tomiyasu’s thought process, stating: “Tomiyasu, he is sometimes thinking too much. Like when he gets an injury — it is because he has eaten something, or it’s his car.

“He always tries to change something. Like superstition. I understand that reaction but, actually, don’t think too much. That’s what I always told him: don’t think too much. I think he has the book — but I don’t know if he read it.”

Tomiyasu had a promising debut season with Arsenal but faced challenges with injuries and consistency in his second year.

However, this season he has shown remarkable improvement, excelling in both left and right-back positions.

He recently provided another assist in Arsenal‘s win over Wolves and delivered a spectacular assist against RC Lens.

His performances have been so impressive that Arsenal are expected to offer him an improved contract to keep him at the club.
