Arsenal loanee Mika Biereth has had a strong start to his loan spell with Motherwell FC, with only a knee injury sustained in August holding him back.

The Arsenal 20-year-old had scored and assisted on his debut before suffering that injury, and he returned to fitness with another goal and assist in late October.

Biereth is now up to six goals and two assists in 10 league appearances, following his latest effort against St. Johnstone.

Motherwell haven’t been at all impressive lately, and they were 1-0 down going into the final minutes of Saturday’s match. But Biereth popped up with a powerful header to level the scores and ultimately earn them a point.

Despite his two months out of action through injury, Biereth is joint-sixth on the Scottish Premiership’s top scorers list. As it stands, he’s just three goals off Matt O’Riley and Abdallah Sima in first place.

It’s difficult to see any reason why Biereth’s run in the team wouldn’t continue away to St. Mirren on Saturday, December 16th at 15:00 GMT.
