Arsenal’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Chelsea brought them level on points with the league leaders, marking a significant moment in their title chase.

The match at the Emirates Stadium also set a new league record for crowd attendance, highlighting the growing interest in the team’s impressive campaign.

Arsenal defeated Chelsea 4-1 in the early title decider to go level on points with the League leaders. Arsenal also established a new league record crowd attendance with 59,042 fans at the Emirates Stadium.

Jonas Eidevall had selected the following XI against the League leaders: Zinsberger; McCabe, Ilestedt, Wubben-Moy, Catley; Wälti, Pelova, Little; Mead, Russo, Foord. The subs were D’Angelo, Beattie, Miedema, Maanum, Maritz, Lacasse, Blackstenius, Codina, Cooney-Cross.

Two players were left out of the squad altogether: Williams and Kühl, while Hurtig is injured and Gio ineligible.

McCabe carried on at right-back, the central pairing of Ilestedt Wubben-Moy is clearly consolidating.

In the middle, the double-pivot Wälti-Pelova behind Little at 10 is working very well. Except obviously on the Chelsea goal where the press got beaten too easily and Fleming was left in acres of space to tee-up Karneryd.

Up front Russo is clearly the number one option at 9 and Mead has now returned to the starting XI.

It was strange feeling seeing Arsenal so dominant against such tough opposition. Tactically Jonas Eidevall got it spot on pressing the left side of Chelsea’s defence that also included a roaming Lauren James. She is not the most disciplined player, defensive-wise.

Emma Hayes 4-1-2-3 leading to many 1v1 situations all over the pitch did not pay dividends and her move to 3-4-1-2 at half-time did not work either.

That was certainly a big win for Jonas Eidevall.

Arsenal are now level with Chelsea on points and have given themselves a huge chance of winning the League, while a defeat would have likely meant the end of that dream.

There is also the added bonus of a huge mental lift with the team unbeaten since the opening match against Liverpool, making it nine wins in a row.

Up next are Spurs at home in the Continental Cup on Wednesday followed by Spurs away in the League at their men’s Stadium.

There should be a large squad rotation on Wednesday with all the players on limited minutes so far given a start, while the first XI will come back on Saturday for the League and hopefully end the year with two North London Derby wins.
