Arsenal are reportedly ramping up their interest in Miguel Gutiérrez, the 22-year-old left-back currently making a name for himself at Girona.

Gutiérrez’s remarkable performances this season, especially against FC Barcelona at the weekend when he scored with his left foot in Girona’s 4-2 win at the Camp Nou, have placed him firmly on Arsenal’s radar.

Arsenal, under the guidance of manager Mikel Arteta, are reportedly intensifying their interest in Miguel Gutiérrez, a defender currently playing for Girona.

Trained at Real Madrid‘s La Fábrica, Gutiérrez moved to Girona in the summer in search of regular playing time, a decision that has paid dividends. Under the leadership of Míchel, the young defender has become a crucial part of the Girona squad with 17 appearances this season.

Gutiérrez’s future at Girona, however, is subject to speculation amid growing interest from Arsenal. The Gunners see him as a potential competitor for Oleksandr Zinchenko, aiming to provide top-level competition and also help them manage Zinchenko’s playing time more effectively.

Despite Arsenal‘s interest, Girona are reportedly reluctant to part with Gutiérrez in the January transfer window, understanding the negative impact his departure could have on the team.

Therefore, any potential move for Gutiérrez is more likely to occur next summer.

Real Madrid, who still holds 50% of Gutiérrez’s rights, apparently view him as a potential candidate to return in the 24/25 season. However, this plan could be disrupted by Arsenal’s pursuit.
