Arsenal are reportedly considering the sale of striker Eddie Nketiah next year. This news comes amid the club’s ongoing efforts to strengthen their attacking options, with several notable names on their wish list.

According to The Athletic, a reliable source, Arsenal are in the market for a new striker to boost their front line.

Some of the players linked with a move to Arsenal include Ivan Toney from Brentford, Evan Ferguson of Brighton, Victor Osimhen from Napoli, and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.

To facilitate a new signing in the attacking department, Arsenal may need to offload one of their current forwards. British site Football Insider has reported that Arsenal are preparing to sell 24-year-old Eddie Nketiah next year.

The club believes that selling a player could generate the necessary funds to acquire established talent for the next season.

Nketiah, who has a contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2027, is currently valued at around €35m.

He has scored five goals and provided three assists in 16 Premier League games (but just 837 minutes). However, the likelihood is that Nketiah will remain at the club for the rest of the season unless Arsenal receive an offer that meets their valuation in the January transfer window.

If Nketiah is sold this winter, Arsenal intends to bring in a new striker as early as January. This could potentially alter the club’s current wish list, depending on the timing and nature of any transfer deals.

The potential sale of Nketiah is part of Arsenal‘s broader strategy to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League and continue building a team capable of challenging for the highest honours on a regular basis.

Nketiah has been previously linked with clubs such as Newcastle, West Ham, and Crystal Palace. His potential departure could spark significant interest, given his proven track record in the Premier League and Arsenal should be able to generate something of a bidding war should they decide to let him go.

Beginning at Chelsea Youth, Eddie Nketiah moved to Arsenal U18 in July 2015 as a free transfer not long after his 16th birthday.

His journey within Arsenal saw a steady progression; from the U18 team, he advanced to the Arsenal U23 side in July 2017, demonstrating his growing capabilities.

On January 1, 2019, he was promoted from the Arsenal U23 team to the main Arsenal squad. This internal promotion marked his entry into top-tier football.

However, his path took a brief detour when he was loaned to Leeds United in the 19/20 season on August 8, 2019.

At Leeds, his market value was estimated at €8.00m, indicating his rising profile as a player. His stint at Leeds was temporary, as he returned to Arsenal on January 2, 2020, concluding his loan period.

Throughout his tenure at Arsenal and other clubs, Nketiah has impressive statistics. He has appeared in a total of 233 matches across all clubs, scoring 89 goals and assisting 21 times.

For Arsenal alone, he has played 154 matches, contributing 38 goals and 9 assists.

His time with Arsenal U21 was particularly prolific, with 28 goals in 40 appearances.

Additionally, his brief period at Leeds United added 5 goals in 19 matches to his tally.

It’s when you look at his goals-per-minutes played, however, where you see how dangerous he is. On average, while at Arsenal, Nketiah has scored, or assisted, every 143 minutes, which is quite a feat when you consider how he only gets a proper run in the side when Gabriel Jesus is injured.
