Arsenal have already rejected one enquiry for Eddie Nketiah in January, but he could be an attractive sale for the Gunners at the right price.

Sami Mokbel reports for the Daily Mail that Eddie Nketiah is attracting interest around the Premier League at the moment, with Arsenal already having knocked back at least one enquiry from a top-flight side for the striker.

Mokbel points out that Nketiah could represent an attractive sale for the Arsenal accountants, as his departure would be registered as pure profit from an FFP standpoint.

Usually, sales are netted off against the amortised value of a player’s signing fee for FFP purposes. But as an Arsenal academy product, Nketiah’s sale would be 100% profit.

Fabrizio Romano reports that there’s interest in Nketiah from five or six Premier League clubs, as well as some Bundesliga clubs.

Romano adds that Arsenal are still happy with Nketiah, and there are no concrete or advanced negotiations ongoing. The Gunners aren’t at all desperate to sell the striker.

But the same report suggests the situation could change in the case of a significant bid.

Arsenal appear increasingly likely to sign a new striker in 2024, and Gabriel Jesus remains very popular at the club. So it wouldn’t be particularly surprising to see Nketiah moving on, assuming he can’t win Jesus’ place before the new striker arrives.

If Arsenal plan to invest significant funds in a new signing, Nketiah’s sale would also make sense to help raise that money.
