Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has set his sights on achieving a remarkable double by winning both the Premier League and the Champions League. This ambition was revealed following his first goal in European competition during Arsenal‘s 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven.

Arsenal have completed their group stage and will now face a second-place side in the Round of 16 in February.

Speaking about his aspirations, Nketiah expressed his dream to win both prestigious tournaments. “My dream is to win (both)! It (the Champions League) is a great competition to be in. We have worked so hard to get there, so we are going to keep pushing every day to deliver and hopefully achieve our dreams,” he said.

Emphasising the team’s ambition, he added, “There is no point being in a competition if you don’t dream to win. We have the quality to do so and we are pushing every day to win every tournament that we enter and play in.”

The 24-year-old’s goal in the match against PSV was a milestone, marking his opening account in European competition.

Nketiah also acknowledged the limited game time he has had since the return of Gabriel Jesus but is keen to build on his recent goal. His performance in the Champions League match was not just a personal achievement but also reflective of Mikel Arteta‘s intent to win every game, regardless of its importance.

Reflecting on his experience in the Champions League, Nketiah said, “It was my first start in this competition and it is nice to get a goal. Every kid dreams of scoring in the Champions League. It was a nice finish and it was good to get some minutes in the tank.”
