Arsenal are set to renew their historic rivalry with Liverpool in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, a fixture that promises excitement as the Gunners aim for their 15th triumph in the competition.

Arsenal have been drawn against Liverpool in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, commencing their campaign to secure the prestigious trophy for the 15th time in the club’s history.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Emirates Stadium, marking another chapter in the storied rivalry between the two clubs.

The draw, which saw Arsenal paired with Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool, was conducted with the assistance of Arsenal‘s own defender, Jen Beattie.

This game revives memories of the clubs’ previous encounters in the FA Cup, the most recent being in February 2014.

In that fifth round encounter, Arsenal emerged victorious with a 2-1 win thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski on their way to the final. They had beaten Tottenham in the third round and Coventry in the fourth that year.

Historically, the two teams have met 17 times in the FA Cup, with Arsenal securing eight victories, including their final triumphs in 1971 and 2001.

The third-round games are set to take place over the weekend of Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7.
