Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Ibrahim Salah of Stade Rennais, according to a report from Morocco.
Moroccan outlet Le360 Sport report that Arsenal have sent scouts to monitor Ibrahim Salah of Stade Rennais, watching him during a recent match for the French club.
The same outlet claims Salah was approached by several clubs in the summer transfer window, including Lille, Valencia, and a Belgian club.
But it seems Arsenal are now keeping an eye on developments with the 22-year-old forward, who made his first appearance in Morocco’s national team squad this year.
The 6’1″ striker has scored five goals in 15 games for Rennes this season, as well as grabbing a couple of goals for their B team earlier this month.
Salah is capable of playing at centre-forward or out on the left-hand side, and he’s done both for his current club.
The young forward made his breakthrough into senior football last season, scoring three times in 11 starts for KAA Gent.
Rennes took notice, signing him up on a four-year deal in the January transfer window. As a result, his contract runs to 2027.
Salah has since played 30 times for Rennes, but his minutes only come to just under 700 – less than eight full 90s.
The forward is clearly still in the early stages of his senior career, and Arsenal are keeping an eye on how he progresses.
