Anthony Gordon’s goal against Arsenal is expected to be given top billing in Howard Webb’s next episode of Match Officials Mic’d Up, according to a report.

The S*n claim that when Howard Webb appears on the next episode of Match Officials Mic’d Up to review various contentious decisions, the Anthony Gordon goal against Arsenal is expected to be given top billing.

The next episode of the decision review show is scheduled to air at the start of next week, in the international break.

It’s obviously possible that there might be a new incident more worthy of coverage in this weekend’s matches, but it seems the Newcastle goal is currently the big one up for discussion.

Arsenal lost 1-0 to Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Saturday, but the game turned on a couple of major VAR calls.

The first was when Bruno Guimaraes hit Jorginho in the head and escaped punishment, whilst the second was when Newcastle’s goal was allowed to stand despite multiple potential reasons to overturn it.

As it stands, there’s no word on whether the Guimaraes red-card incident will feature in Howard Webb’s review.

But whilst many fans will tune in desperate to hear an explanation for the two decisions, the question is whether it really makes any difference.

Whatever explanations and excuses they give, Arsenal won’t get a point back. The Gunners won’t get the chance to play the second half against 10 men.

As Arteta put it after the game: “I don’t care honestly, I don’t care what they say. It’s the outcome. It’s too late, whatever they say is too late.”
