Gabriel Martinelli has linked up with Brazil, despite some concerns about his fitness status following his substitution against Burnley at the weekend.

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli was substituted in the final minutes of the game against Burnley on Saturday, and onlookers speculated that he seemed to be clutching his hamstring as he left the field.

Given Martinelli’s previous hamstring injury earlier this season, there are understandable concerns about a recurrence of the issue, but no suggestions of a setback from any official sources or media outlets.

Per Football.London, Martinelli has now linked up with the Brazil national team, which is a positive sign.

However, Gabriel Jesus has also travelled to join the Brazil squad despite his own uncertain injury status, so we can’t breathe a sigh of relief just yet.

Brazil opted to assess Jesus themselves rather than relying on reports from Arsenal, and it’s possible they’re planning to do the same thing with Martinelli.

We should know the results of the assessment on Martinelli pretty soon, as Brazil take on Colombia on Thursday night (or Friday at 00:00 GMT).

As for Jesus, we may need to wait a bit longer to find out the results of his assessments, as Ryan Taylor reports that the hope is he’ll be available for the Argentina game next week, not the Colombia game.

There are no guarantees yet on whether the striker will be available or not.

Arsenal are then in action against Brentford on Saturday, November 25th at 17:30 GMT.
