Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Jodie Taylor as the new Football Services Executive for Arsenal Women, marking her return to the club in a significant off-field position.

Taylor, who ended her playing career in September 2023, rejoins the club where she previously spent part of her distinguished playing career.

Taylor’s return to Arsenal follows a final three-month stint during the 2023/24 season, adding to her earlier two-year spell with the club between 2016 and 2017.

In her new role as Football Services Executive, Taylor will be working closely with Arsenal‘s Head Coach Jonas Eidevall, Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley, and the first-team playing squad and technical staff. Her primary focus will be to support the continued growth and success of Arsenal Women.

Expressing her enthusiasm about the new role, Taylor said, “I’m really excited to be returning to Arsenal and taking on this new role. I’m looking forward to working with Jonas, Clare and the football leadership team across the club, as well as providing a link between the players and staff. I love how well-respected and supported our women’s team is and I’m excited to continue to drive the high-performance culture within the club.”

Clare Wheatley, Director of Women’s Football at Arsenal, also welcomed Taylor’s appointment. “We’re so pleased to welcome Jodie back to the club as our new Football Services Executive.

“In this new position, Jodie will help to support our continued growth and development by working closely with myself, Jonas and the wider first-team playing and technical group. As a former Arsenal player and somebody with such wide experience across the women’s game, we believe Jodie is a wonderful fit to step into this role and help us achieve our goals.”

Taylor’s appointment is seen as a significant move to strengthen the administrative and operational aspects of Arsenal Women, leveraging her extensive experience and understanding of the women’s game from a 21-year playing career that saw her win the Champions League with Lyon.
