Fulham have taken the lead in the race to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre, with Liverpool and Arsenal seemingly turning elsewhere.

In recent days, Arsenal were again linked with Fluminense midfielder Andre, with reports suggesting the Gunners had scouted the player again during the Copa Libertadores final over the weekend.

Yet new reports from Brazil suggest the midfielder is set for a different Premier League club.

Bruno Andrade tells the Canal GOAT YouTube channel that whilst Arsenal and Liverpool have been keeping an eye on Andre, Fulham are leading the English competition for the player.

Arsenal have reportedly turned to other options, monitoring Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa among them.

David Lynch of This Is Anfield adds that Liverpool are now not planning to explore a move for Andre, with no plans to make a return for the player in January.

In response to an article on Liverpool’s withdrawal, Andrade repeated on Twitter that Andre has a “free way to Fulham”.

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte report that Andre has an agreement with Fluminense for a transfer at the end of the year.

Andre will compete in the Club World Cup in December, with Fluminense having won the Copa Libertadores. But he’s then expected to be on the move.

Liverpool have already had a €30m (£26m) offer turned down, as Fluminense didn’t want to sell mid-season, and Andre was happy to stay to compete in the Copa Libertadores.

Edu Gaspar spent time in Brazil over the international break, and he reportedly visited a number of clubs including Fluminense.

But given Fluminense weren’t the only club to receive the Arsenal technical director, there’s no reason to believe it was a transfer-related visit.
