Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal has been met with high expectations.

With a significant £105 million move from West Ham United, Rice’s old teammate Vladimir Coufal has no doubts about his ability to secure more silverware with the Gunners.

Rice, who joined the North London club this summer for a record £105 million, has already kicked off his time at Arsenal by contributing to their Community Shield victory in August.

Despite Rice’s promising start and form, Arsenal experienced a setback in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, falling 3-1 to West Ham United. A Ben White own goal and strikes from Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen sealed the win for the Hammers, leading to a mixed reaction for Rice when he came off the bench against his former club.

Coufal, the Czech Republic full-back, expressed confidence in Rice’s prospects at Arsenal, stating, “I think they’ll win something for sure.” His praise did not stop there as he commended Rice’s performance, “He’s doing an incredible job for Arsenal, even better than he did for us.”

The affectionate sentiment was also evident when Rice visited his former teammates in their changing room post-match.

Arsenal, under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, made six changes to their lineup against West Ham, yet fielded a team with nine full internationals. The defeat at East London means Arsenal‘s aspirations for silverware now lie with the Premier League, the Champions League, and the upcoming FA Cup.

Arsenal fans have much to look forward to with Rice’s addition to the squad. His track record of leadership and performance has raised hopes of a strong run in the remaining competitions.

Rice’s seamless transition into the Arsenal setup and the backing of his old teammate solidify the belief that his presence will bolster the team’s title challenges across all fronts.
