Bayern Munich’s persistent interest in Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu shows no signs of abating.

Despite Arsenal’s firm stance on keeping him, Bayern, led by Thomas Tuchel, are keen on adding Tomiyasu to their defensive ranks, attracted by his versatility under Mikel Arteta’s management.

Bayern Munich’s interest in Arsenal‘s Takehiro Tomiyasu has been a persistent theme in recent transfer windows, as reported by Sky Deutschland.

The Bundesliga giants, under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, have been considering the 25-year-old Japanese international to reinforce their defensive line, particularly in the right-back position.

Despite his rotational role at Arsenal this season, with only three Premier League starts, Tomiyasu’s versatility has caught Bayern’s attention, as he has been deployed in various defensive positions by manager Mikel Arteta.

Although Bayern Munich had eyed Tomiyasu as a ‘very hot’ target last summer and continue to monitor him for a potential transfer, Arsenal have been clear in their stance of not selling the defender.

With limited options in the fullback positions, Arsenal view Tomiyasu as an integral part of the squad and are determined to retain him, making a January transfer unrealistic.

Bayern Munich, however, remain hopeful and are considering revisiting their interest in Tomiyasu in the next summer transfer window.

This ongoing interest is possibly fuelled by the defender’s limited game time at Arsenal, where he has often appeared as a substitute this season.
