Arsenal have reportedly reignited their interest in Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, a saga that began in May 2020 and has persisted through various transfer windows.

Arsenal’s interest was again reported in April 2023, with the latest updates from TuttoJuve coming today, suggesting an intensifying pursuit.

As the January transfer window approaches, TuttoJuve has claimed that both Arsenal and Manchester United might target the Italian forward.

Juventus are understandably reluctant to release Chiesa; however, the fact that his contract is due to expire in June 2025 and a new deal has not yet been agreed, might make the club consider substantial offers.

The figure speculated is around €70 million, which could tempt the Turin club to the negotiation table.

Chiesa’s value to Juventus is underscored by his versatility in attack, capable of playing as a left winger, right winger, or second striker.

With a current market valuation of €45 million, down from a high of €70 million in July 2021, the 26-year-old Italian’s professional trajectory has been notable since his early days at Fiorentina Primavera, where he was valued at €50k at 16 years of age.

Juventus acquired Chiesa on July 1, 2022, from Fiorentina for €42.50 million, following a loan period that included a redemption obligation of €40 million, dependent on certain performance metrics.

His transfers to date have accumulated fees totalling €55.10 million but it would likely take a fee well in excess of that to pry him from Juve.

Chiesa is the son of former footballer Enrico Chiesa and the brother of 19yo Lorenzo Chiesa, currently with Sampdoria’s youth team.
