Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Valencia‘s young centre-back Yarek Gasiorowski, following his impressive performances with Spain’s U-19 team, according to AS in Spain’s Saturday edition.

Arsenal stalk Valencia international Yarek He is 18 years old and has a 20M clause AS (Las Palmas)18 Nov 2023 Yarek Gasiorowski, in a match with the U-19. There are few centre-backs who take home a ball signed by all their team-mates after making a hat-trick. Yarek Gariorowski (Polinyà del Xùquer, 2005) is one of them. Yarek scored three goals on Wednesday against Moldova and thus adds five in 16 appearances for Spain U-19. Yarek is the latest to join the Fifth Del Pipo, although the scouts of Europe have known him and have him on their list for a long time, specifically those of Arsenal. Yarek is a kid ahead of his time. He has always been burning stages in the Valencia Academy ahead of his age, a quarry to which he arrived as a second-year prebenjamin. The Red Bull Salzburg already wanted to sign him for 5 million when he had not even debuted with the blanquinegro subsidiary and in Paterna and Las Rozas, when he was a youth, it was rare the day that there was not a scout from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus or Borussia Dortmund taking notes of his performances. And always among them, one from Arsenal, a club that would have signed him (or tried to) a long time ago if not for the bureaucratic impediments of Brexit. English clubs cannot sign players under the age of 18 or more than three players per season under the age of 21. Yarek has been of legal age since January and Arsenal are following his arrival to the elite very closely. Yarek has a contract with Valencia until June 2025 and the club has the option to extend that link for two more years, obviously fulfilling a series of sporting and economic requirements. His clause, nowadays, amounts to 20 million euros, although this amount will increase exponentially when he is made a first team player. Gasiorowski, who turned 18 in January, has caught the attention of several top European clubs, including Arsenal, due to his rapid development at Valencia’s Academy.

Gasiorowski, a native of Polinyà del Xùquer, has been a standout player for Spain U-19, scoring five goals in 16 appearances, including a remarkable hat-trick against Moldova.

His talent has been evident since his early days at Valencia, where he joined as a prebenjamin. His progress saw interest from clubs like Red Bull Salzburg, which offered €5 million for him before his debut with Valencia’s B team.

Arsenal are said to be a long-time admirer of Gasiorowski, frequently having scouts at his matches alongside representatives from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund.

However, due to Brexit-related bureaucratic impediments, English clubs face restrictions in signing players under the age of 18 or more than three players per season under the age of 21.

Now of age, Gasiorowski is on Arsenal’s radar for a potential move, so says the article at least.

The young defender’s contract with Valencia runs until June 2025, with the club having an option to extend it for two more years.

His current release clause stands at €20 million, a figure expected to rise significantly should he be promoted to the first team.
