Arsenal are among at least four top European clubs in the race for Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, according to a report.
The Evening Standard report that Chelsea are ready to rival Arsenal for Corinthians’ Gabriel Moscardo, with FC Barcelona and Liverpool also interested in the transfer.
Moscardo could reportedly cost around £26m, and Chelsea are set to pursue a move in January. But Corinthians won’t negotiate just yet, as they’re waiting until after their presidential elections on November 25th.
Chelsea presented Corinthians with a formal bid for Moscardo over the summer, but it was turned down.
Around the same time, Brazilian outlets reported that Arsenal were one of the clubs to watch in the race for Moscardo, as people linked to the Gunners had been in touch with Corinthians representatives to get information on the player.
Manchester City were another club to seek details on Moscardo, and Corinthians have been quick to extend his deal to June 2026 in response to the growing interest in him.
Only just 18 years old, Moscardo has already made 23 appearances for Corinthians’ first team this season, playing a defensive midfield role.
That run of games comes in spite of the player having to undergo surgery a few months ago.
Moscardo missed three weeks of matches with appendicitis, but he came straight back into the team once he was fit again.
The teenager is now catching the eye over in Europe, and it seems he could have some high-profile suitors in the coming windows.
