As Arsenal gear up for the January transfer window, they are reportedly considering significant changes to their midfield, with Juventus showing interest in Thomas Partey and the Gunners targeting key players to bolster their squad.

Arsenal are reportedly preparing for a significant reshuffle in their midfield during the upcoming January transfer window.

Amidst these plans, Juventus have shown interest in acquiring Arsenal‘s Thomas Partey, hoping, as usual, for a reduced fee, according to Sky Italia and journalist Gianluca di Marzio.

Juventus, keen on strengthening their midfield, have Partey on their wish list, believing a deal could be reached on favourable terms. This interest is further backed up by a report from Il Bianconero, with Juventus’ hierarchy, including Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna, keeping an eye on the player.

Despite the apparent attractiveness of the deal Juventus and the Italian media have imagined in their heads, there are hurdles, notably Partey’s participation in the African Cup of Nations and Arsenal’s unspecified requests for the player.

In other words, Arsenal wanting a reasonable fee.

For their part, Arsenal are also said to be actively seeking to reinforce their midfield.

The club is reportedly contemplating a substantial £52 million offer for Real Sociedad‘s Martin Zubimendi, a player who has impressed in his debut Champions League campaign.

Zubimendi’s contract, running until 2027, includes a £52 million release clause, which Arsenal could activate.

Furthermore, Arsenal‘s interest in Aston Villa‘s Brazilian midfielder, Douglas Luiz, has reignited.

The 25-year-old has been on Arsenal‘s radar for some time, and his current form, boasting five goals and one assist in 12 Premier League games this season, has only heightened the Gunners’ interest.

Arsenal had previously attempted to sign Luiz before he inked a new deal with Villa.

Tottenham and Chelsea are also reportedly interested in Luiz, who has become a key player under Unai Emery at Villa Park.

The potential departure of Partey to Juventus could fund these new acquisitions.

Partey‘s tenure at Arsenal has been marred by injury issues, including a recent thigh injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the calendar year.

His persistent injuries since joining Arsenal have prompted the club to finally consider alternatives.
