Arsenal’s top performers have been recognised by various media outlets following the 6-0 thrashing of RC Lens on Wednesday night.
Arsenal put together the biggest win of Matchday 5 of the Champions League on Wednesday, demolishing RC Lens to top the group in emphatic fashion.
L’Equipe (via UEFA) recognised Arsenal’s performance with particularly high ratings for Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Mikel Arteta, all of whom received an 8/10.
The French outlet are notoriously harsh markers with their player ratings, so for almost the entire team to receive a 6/10 rating or higher says a lot about the performance.
Martin Odegaard was nominated for the Champions League Goal of the Week award, with his fine volley finishing off a deadly counter-attack. You can vote for the Arsenal captain here.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus was included in WhoScored’s Champions League Team of the Week, with the striker earning a 9.43 rating.
WhoScored highlight Jesus’ goal and assist, as well as the fact he completed four successful dribbles.
Odegaard was unfortunate to miss out on the WhoScored team, receiving a rating of 8.66, an identical rating to fellow midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who did make it in.
Finally, UEFA also included Saka and Jesus in their Fantasy Football Team of the Week, with both players earning 12 points thanks to their goals and assists.
