In his pre-match press conference, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provided fitness updates on key players Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus, and Ben White ahead of the upcoming game against Brentford.

Arteta expressed optimism about Odegaard, who missed the last match against Burnley due to a concussion injury.

He stated, “Hopefully he is available. We have another training session today but he has been progressing well. We didn’t know how many days he’d need to be out and in the end it got more delayed than we wanted but we had to protect the player.”

Regarding Jesus, who also sat out the Burnley game, Arteta confirmed his availability, noting his recent 96-minute appearance for Brazil.

“He’s available,” Mikel said. “He played 96, 97 minutes in a very competitive match, so we have another session and they had a long flight so I have to see the condition of every single player to make the call on the line-up.”

As for White, there remains some uncertainty, with Arteta adding, “Again, hopefully if he is able to train today he will be eligible to play, but it’s a question mark to be resolved in the next few hours.”

Arteta also confirmed that Aaron Ramsdale would start in goal, commenting on the player’s consistent enthusiasm and willingness to play, regardless of the situation. David Raya is ineligible due to Premier League loan rules.

“No, I think every player is willing to play. They’re all excited to play. They’re always expecting to play. Sometimes there’s disappointment the day before or a few hours before the match, but every player is willing to play,” Arteta said.
